Calcasieu Sales Tax Hosting LATA 3rd Qtr Conference Sept. 10-12
Our office is pleased to be hosting the 3rd Quarterly Conference of the Louisiana Association of Tax Administrators (LATA) September 10-12, 2008, at the Isle of Capri Hotel & Casino in Westlake. Sales tax professionals from all over the state and surrounding areas will be in attendance to discuss the latest legislative session changes and other pertinent tax issues.
NEW ONLINE FILING RESOURCE
Effective May 1, 2008, RamWare (www.salestaxonline.com) is available for taxpayers to file sales tax returns online. Dealers must register in advance with RamWare and BaileyLink to be able to file online. BaileyLink may be accessed by scrolling down and clicking on their link on our website. Both services are offered free of charge to all dealers.
Sales Tax 101 Class--Free Help to Dealers
Are you a new business owner and overwhelmed by the number of forms and information you need to produce? Maybe you've been in business a while but are unsure of exactly what forms you need to complete. Our office has the answer--Sales Tax 101 is a short (1- 1 1/2 hour) free class offered the first Friday of each month to dealers to help answer questions and make filing returns easier. Call our office for more information or to sign up for the next class.
Hotel-Motel Report Forms 
The Hotel-Motel Tax Report Forms Schedule A and Schedule B have been updated and made interactive. These PDF forms can now be accessed and the information entered in the correct spaces on-screen. The forms then must be printed out and mailed to our office, but the new interactive forms will allow taxpayers to complete the necessary information easily and legibly. The forms cannot be filed electronically but must be printed and mailed.
 Calcasieu Parish Sales Tax Return
We have updated our Calcasieu Parish Sales Tax Return form to provide for the Food & Drug Exemptions as well as the Manufacturing Machinery/Equipment Exclusion for Columns A, B & H. New instructions for completing the return are included as well. This updated information may also be found at www.laota.com.
